we did the hike in 45min, the wreckage is cool except the stupid tourists who climb on the plane . hard to admire the beauty and take photos because of that.

From the parking area, it’s about 4 km far away. There are two ways to get there; walk or take the bus in every 15 minutes by paying. If you walk, don’t worry! The plane is small and it’s there ;)

Save yourself the effort of the long walk in poor weather and take the shuttle bus – 2500ISK per person return regularly throughout the day. You can pre-book on their website or pay on the bus by card

2900kr for a round trip bus ride. Worth it to save time from a boring flat walk. You can skip this completely if you are in a rush. The plane is a cool backdrop for photos, nothing more.

Be warned it’s at least a 45 min long walk each way if you don’t take the shuttle ... and the plane wreck isn’t worth it.

1 hour 30 minutes total walk. It’s not a pretty walk. Airplane is surreal though

The shuttle is 2000 kr one way or 2900 kr return. They want you to pay for parking too on top of that.
