Angkor Thom located in present day Cambodia, was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire. It was established in the late twelfth century by king Jayavarman VII. It covers an area of 9 km², within which are located several monuments from earlier eras as well as those established by Jayavarman and his successors.

The railing on the bridge going in is really amazing and reminds you of the avenue of sphinxes in Luxor.
The place is so big with lots of temples . You can go on a half-day tour or spend the whole day here. Be prepared for a lot of walking as the temples are spaces a bit far from each other.
Get here before the sunrise and take a walk outside the temple for some off the path perspectives. And, the monkeys will take your food - and your iced coffee !
Famous temples here such as Tah Prohm, Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, Ta Keo, Baphuon , Elephant Terrace , Bayon, Phimeanakas , Pre Rup, East Mebon, Banteay Kdei, are all highly recommended to visit.
Next to Angkor Wat as the center, Angkor Thom covers the outside with many temples and monuments built of stone for many years, going to all temples will take about 3-5 days.
It's a great place but be sure to be physically ready. You'll finish the trail tired and exhausted. Don't miss to visit every temple .
The breathtaking majesty of this temple washes away our lives misery..magnificently curved architecture of 12th century
This is definitely one of the wonders of the world. A must see historical heritage site! Spend at least two days exploring here.
It is a complex of different temples , monuments , landmarks and attractions . If time is an issue, just visit The Bayon.
Known as the Great City , it was the centre of power of Jayavarman VII . Among the historic sites in it are Baphuon , terrace of elephants, phimeanakas .
try to get a 7 days ticket to visit all of the temples inside Angkor Thom city . It's massive. make a visit early in the morning to avoid tourist .
One of my favorite because each head has its own personality. Plus, being situated on a bridge makes it more magical.
Interesting. Fascinating how a culture flourished and then died out within just a few centuries. A bit sad that it's the Vietnamese cashing in on it now.
One of the reasons to come to Cambodia... Enjoy walking around and careful not to step on tourists ...
Got elephant rides here. But inside the bayon temple can be very crowded . Take your breath before climb up.
Superb architecture built by the ancient Khmer Empire in the 12th Century
the big old city . take enough time for it...the elephant terrace for sure but also the other places.
Great ruins are located in a wide range. It'll be a great experience.
Beautiful with many interesting sculptures and carvings.
Explore and take your time. It's ok to get lost, you won't be far!
Simply incredible - a must visit in Cambodia. Better than Angkor Wat in my opinion
Go at 12:00h when the crowd leaves for lunch . It's great to see it empty.
Great walled city of the Khmer Empire built by the late king Jayavarman VII in 12th century .
The giant Buddha heads make this my favorite temple at Angkor.
Be sure to check out Bayon Temple & take the compulsory 'Nose-touching-with-Buddha' photos.
4 face does certainly make Angkor Thom a confusing place to exit from as it looks the same.
Wide area with many sights, check the towers. Many food booths arround, about 4-6 USD a meal, 1 USD for a coconut , rest room for free
Amazing, would come back again.
Wonderful visit, fewer tourists ...
One of the best sight see-ing
Beautiful face but the less is horrible
Beautiful, interesting but also exhausting to try to tackle in one day.
Roam to more distant, small temples where you will be alone for a minute.
Liked it even more than Angkor Wat ! Majestic !
I like the smile of Angkor statue the best
Use sundcreen & definately take water with you, it's all worth it!
Some of the missing statue heads can be found in the national museum !
The South Gate is so amazing that triggers a lot of imaginations.
Garuda at its finest :D
Really liked this site
Bayon smile
Pay no more than 1usd for 2 cans of coke .
Der Besuch lohnt auf jeden Fall. Sehr beeindruckend.

Impresionante ..faraonico..arte para aburrir.
King's perspective onto the Victory Way from the Terrace is well worth the leisurely promenade. Do it in the early morning or late afternoon, so it is more pleasant. - Irina
It's really, really hot here, but the shade inside makes it easy to spend time exploring. - Dave Mc
Another unique and stunning temple in the complex. This one is easy to get lost exploring through all the passages and skylights, and is well worth a stop. - Mark J.
Beautiful, love the trees. Look for hidden moments! - Joel Savitzky
The best of the sites at the archeological park, but feels more like a long queue at a theme park. - Rob
Scenic view as you walk on the platform towards the temple. The temple is small though. I love this place besides Angkor wat, sras sang and Bayon Temple. - Bumblenee O.
Beautiful. Such great history and views. We got up at 4am to watch the sunrise. Worth it! - Elliana Rashi
