It's sad that there's hardly any furniture since Ike, still, it's a really great tour . Our guide was amazing, I wish I could remember his name so I could brag on him!
Built by lawyer Colonel Walter Gresham and designed by Nicholas Clayton, this Victorian castle was cited by the American Institute of Architects as one of the 100 most important buildings in America.
Bishop's Palace is an ornate delight of colored stone, intricately carved ornaments, rare woods, stained-glass windows, bronze dragons and other sculptures , luxury materials and furnishings.
Great audio tour for $10. Takes about 30 min. Fun to see.
Incredible craftsmanship that has survived SO much, including the greatest natural disaster to, thus far, befall the United States .
A beautiful home but an overpriced self guided tour . Staff unfriendly.
Interesting visit.
Very disappointed that there was no furniture in the house from the era of use
The ladies in the shop&ticket desk were extremely rude.we were very disappointed by their service&rudeness.never go there.

Awesome experience to learn about one of the foundational families of not only Galveston but the state of Texas. We took kids (12 & 11) and there is enough there to keep them occupied. - Charlie Foxworth
