Gulf oyster is extremely fresh!! Soup combination tastes like heaven!! Platters and fish are really fresh and delicious I love the texture of them!! Everything is really fresh!! Vann is really kind: )
Ordered a bowl of the Lobster Bisque , which is always amazing, as well as Stuffed Crab , which was delicious but very intense/heavy. Not sure if I could've eaten two of those (the entrée portion).
I loved my pesto pasta . I added shrimp . Only 5 shrimp , but they were big and delicious. My bf wasn't in love with soft shell crab . Comes breaded and fried. Not sure if he ordered it fried.
The food was great! Excellent service from our waiter , Jesse! I enjoyed reading up on the history of this restaurant !
I heard my Uncle raving about Gaidos in the 60's ... In Europe, I heard a couple talking about Gaido's as the best seafood in America. I have been many times by accident and will go back again.
I always get snapper Michael w/ lump crab meat . It never disappoints! The au gratin potatoes areTHE BEST (only served family style now - doggy bag!). Pecan pie - my fav since I was a little girl.
Great dinner with a group of 5. Outstanding crab apps. Don't be fooled by the crab cheese cake ! Great fish dinners and amazing desserts !!! And our man Alan was fantastic!!!!
The food was amazing! The Lump Avocado dinner portion was massive and quite healthy. The ahi tuna steak was perfect! The service was a bit slow. The building is old and smells like mildew in spots.
Best grits I've ever had. Fresh seafood prepared any way and perfectly every time. Pecan pie is legit. Crab cakes and wine selection were excellent.
Seafood heaven. Snapper Michael , Brook’s gumbo and the fried shrimp can’t be beat. Right on the Seawall. Parking is tight in the front, parking lot in the back. Fun waiters who know lots of history.
Best flounder I've ever had, it wasn't really improved by the crawfish stuffing. I felt a little sorry for him, he was probably swimming around with his friends this morning
If you’re like me and you go to a restaurant not for its menu but for one dish, then a place like Gaido’s will never tire . The soft-shell crab is still untouchable. Read more
Snapper Michael , shrimp , gumbo and bisque were all great! If you have a few people get the dessert combo, it's awesome!
Probably the best seafood I've ever had. You don't get to be a 105 yr institution by doing things wrong.
I feel like there was a definite difference in sides of restaurant . "Casual " and "Fancy " sides. We were casual from the beach . We saw kids leave for prom after they ate. They weren't sittingour side.
Presents itself as fancy . Food is good, wait staff is overdone. Yummy crab cake , crab claws and bisque Will be back to try more.
Enjoyed the Pesto Fettuccini ! Hosting station needs work; when we approached, the host turned his back for a lengthy period of time before acknowledging us. Wait Staff was very at tentative
Crystal B is such a great server. Very good attitude. Tile is exceptional.
What do you get when you make a crab Cobb salad with no lettuce? The lump Cobb tower! Awesome!
Gaido's has a reputation for consistently fresh and well-prepared food. There is something for everyone. If you've not dined at Gaido's, you haven't really explored Galveston.
Had the combo platter, the scallops were outstanding, the whole thing was very good.

The tomatoes and grilled charcoal oysters are all amazing. Try the bisque - to due for.
They don't offer the captain's plate anymore. The snapper Michael is great though and the crab cakes as an entree are delicious
If you can't get a reservation , check with the hosts and see if bar seating is available.
You’re taken care of by folks in white shirts , the view from the Seawall will never get old and you can buy a plastic shark from the shop. Read more
You must try the Watkins bisque . It is incredible! The fried asparagus w/lump crab meat and Ahi tuna are also delicious. Ask for Chr
Gaido's staff does it the old-fashioned way, peeling shrimp , shucking oysters , and filleting fish by hand to create some exciting dishes.
The seafood salads are great.
Best scallops and tasty shrimp . Charcoal oysters are excellent!
The dessert wine called icewine is the best
The Fried Stuffed Shrimp and Brooks' Gumbo is to die for! Excellent service as well , ask for Natasha. :)
Best deal is not on the menu - ask for captains plate - 1/2 entree, soup or salad & dessert for price of full entree.
Great gumbo . Best shrimp dishes on the island .
Very tasty NY cheesecake and friendly server Luis. Like him❤️
Blackened seared Tuna Local from 3miles out! Absolutely to die for! Sushi grade Tuna . Try it Rare!!!!
The cold shrimp plate where the shrimp are cut square.
Great food! Grab a table by the window and ask the waiter about the restaurant 's history.
Everything’s just GREAT. ❤️
Wedge salad , gumbo , Red snapper wade and shrimp wade - yummy. Sauteed lump crab was full of shells.
Oysters ponzinni and Oysters bruschettes, and Oysters asiago, can't go wrong
word on the street is that Gaido's Seafood Restaurant is the best place to eat in Galveston. Also, the pecan pie is famous and can be shipped anywhere in the US.
Doesn't look like the upscale restaurant it is from the outside. Wonderful menu, wait staff and ambiance!
The best seafood in Texas for a hundred years running. Period.
Stuffed crab appetizer was excellent. Fried shrimp was meh. I'm not happy with inconsistency.
Food was good but too expensive for what you get. We were a group of 12 and there were plenty of free large tables (the place is huge) but they made us wait half an hour anyway.
Everything!
The bisque is to die for! Must try.
Try our special for today! Ask your server about it
Oysters Maria...delicious! Bisque ... To die for!!!
