Tynemouth Castle and Priory on the coast of North East England was once one of the largest fortified areas in England. Overlooking the North Sea and the River Tyne, it dominates the headland. With its 2000 year history and beautiful views it is the perfect location for a family fun day out.

My family loves Tynemouth Priory but we would love to see more historical events , reenactments and perhaps displays of artifacts about the history of the Priory.

Lovely sheltered beach in shadows of Tynemouth priory. Very popular with family’s, so make sure you get there early! Make sure you choose a nice patch of dry sand well above the tide line at high tide - Silvaring
Excellent fish and chips. This is a very busy fish shop which really says it all. I have never heard one complaint about the food in all of the years that my family have been going here. - Ian Smith
