You can walk the grounds including outside the Wat for free - going inside is what will cost you. Behind the palace is a small collection of cars donated to the Laos King. Be sure to check it out.
Attended the Royal Ballet Theatre performance . It was interesting to see the traditional arts . Performance was 1hr, cheapest tickets were 100,000. But for 150,000 you got the front row & comfy seats .
It is forbidden to take pics inside the museum , once you try , security would ask you to delete it. Outside is really beautiful, if you have time- one of must see in Luang Prabang
Very strict dress code, make sure you cover up correctly. Closes for a long lunch so make sure you plan your trip well . Walking around the gardens is possible over lunch but there is not much to see.
Quite modest in comparison to other palaces in the world but definitely worth a visit. The car exhibition is really interesting although small.
If you want to save the 30000 kip ticket, you can take a walk outside of the palace .
#1 favorite cultural attraction to do in Luang Prabang. So interesting to read and see how the king lived.
Love the architecture with one of signature image in LB
Visit before 4pm. If lucky, can see wedding couple with traditional dress .
I read tons of negative reviews - this ain't Buckingham but it has it's own charm and artifacts , why can't take photos and abit pricey the ticket
The former residence of the royal family. A nice place to visit. Don't miss it !
Simply amazing! Look for the lake and feed the fishies! :-)
Tranquil garden , plus slice of auto history with the royal car collection's Ford, Edsel, and Citroen
How could anyone call this unimpressive ?! Americans. Lovely gardens , temple , royal artefacts & palace - only 30,000 kip; well worth a visit.
No photos inside any of the exhibits . At the main museum you'll need to put your camera in a locker .
Fun to just walk the grounds or ride your bike around.
Need to leave things in locker room before enter inside museum if you travel alone
Skip. No pics inside, there are about 4 rooms to walk through, and you can see the same style of mural at Wat Xieng Thong. Not worth the entrance fee or hassle (they're strict about bags and clothes ).

If you are a history buff you will love this place.
