The Rosenberg Library, successor to the Galveston Mercantile Library which was founded in 1871, is the oldest public library in Texas in continuous operation.

Went for computer class - checked in at Main Front Desk - was told it was on 3rd Floor & elevator was out of order. Trudged up 3 flights of stairs - got to 3rd Floor Desk - Sorry class is cancelled!
