You have to see the mochi pounding ! So much fun. Definitely worth stopping by on your way to the park . Don't feed the mochi to the deer--keep it for yourself.

Always a must if you are in Nara. There you can see how the mocho sweet is made (old style) and buy some fresh one. Absolutely delicious

One of the best mochis I've ever eaten. The texture is so chewy. It's called "yomogi mochi "; yomogi is a wild plant that gives it the natural green color, in case you are wondering.😋

Fluffy and soft mochi , the best. Buy one at ¥180 and stand on the opposite sidewalk or elsewhere to savour it. The sidewalk in front of the shop is narrow and gets crowded . Let’s be considerate. :)

Not a mochi fan but their mochi is really good. Great consistency and flavor. Not rubbery and not too sweet. Plus they put on a good demo.

The yomogi mochi is the best. Eat while it is hot. It is not as nice when you buy some to eat in the train !

Mochi is less sweet and is chewy. But seriously nothing to shout about. There are other better mochi in kyoto. You might need to come early to catch the 'live' show of mochi making session.

もちいどの商店街の入り口にその店はあります。店頭で一際目を惹く威勢のいい餅 つきパフォーマンス。そのつきたて の餅 で作るよもぎ餅 は黄粉がまぶしてあり、柔らかくて最高！

高速餅 つきは旅の思い出としてインパクト大。旅行者はつきたて のあんこ 入りよもぎ餅 をその場で食べるのがほとんどだけど、時間 が経ったものも全く変わらず柔らかく、とても美味しい。

1個130円 で幸せな気分になれます。

高速お餅 つき見学 の際は、車道にはみ出さないように、お気をつけてください。お店の前の歩道から溢れてしまうことが多々あります(^O^)

持ち帰り で暫く時間 が経ってもまだ柔らかくて美味しいけど、店頭で買ってすぐ食べるのがふわふわしてて本当に美味しい！
