Super fun to play with the deer . First bow, they'll bow back, feed them a deer biscuit and you can pet them on the head. Watch our for deer who sneak attack from behind and bite your pockets!

Mathias Becker

Check out the biggest Buddha statue in Japan! I heard that this rebuild is only 60% of the original one! Wow! Oh, yeah: one of the deer bite me in the ass! Beware! ;-)

Artyom Fedosov

Magic place, where a huge number of young deer roam freely all around the park and the neighborhood . They are cute , a little shy, friendly and always hungry. :D

Stephen ????????????????????????????????????????????

Amazing place, definitely somewhere you should go visit whilst in Osaka. It's super cool to see & feed the deer . The park is also very with lots of temples .

Steve Zhang

5 minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station or a about a 20 minute walk from JR Nara Station. Alternatively, the park can be reach by bus . There are multiple stop around the park

Simon Favreau-Lessard

Those deers are hungry, they will try to eat your backpack straps and your shirts and anything else that look edible to them.

Putra Putera

Nara park with deer i think marvelous place to enjoy with free entrance fee and you can enjoy to touch & selfie with deer . I never go such a place very tame animal and open area !

Connie Chiu

Such a cool park to play with some deers . They are literally everywhere (and so is their poop). Get some deer cookies to feed em and make em bow for the food. They swarm so be careful.

Gene Parcellano

The parts away from the main road are peaceful and beautiful. Get as far away from the tourist , towards the bigger ponds .

Joshua Peters

Such a beautiful park . The earlier in the morning the better. By noon this park is filled with thousands of tourists .

Steven Peterson

Try putting one of the deer crackers in your mouth, kneel down, and let the deer come and take it from you. Don't forget to have someone take a video!

Mark Kupasrimonkol

Bow to the deer , they will bow back, feed biscuit , repeat. Don't show all your biscuits . The deer can get a little head butt-y.

Melissa H

watch out for the deer . they may look cute but they eat whatever they see. (friendly advise: hide your maps before they laid their eyes on them)

Julia M

A lovely, peaceful place - get away from the main roads and high up into the lush park . It's quiet and beautiful, and the deer there won't be as aggressive. Be smart and don't feed around a herd!

Anastasia K.

If you are here to play with deers , keep walking past the spots full of tourists , especially at the very entrance. Further away there are tons of hungry & curious deers waiting just for you! :)

Trave77er

It's worth heading up to Nigatsu-do for great views out over the shrines . Stay in the park until dusk and you'll have the place to yourself when all the tourists depart making it even more serene.

Johnny Warström

Amazing experience with all the wild deers that roam the park . If you want them near you, purchase a pack of crackers for 150 yen and they will become your friend forever!

Shana Chan

This was my favorite thing to do!! Feeding deer under Sakura blossoms was magical and so fun! I did meet a rambunctious deer who bit my thigh when it got jealous of me feeding another deer so beware!

Aidu F

Caution! The deers do bite/gnaw.Especially if you have biscuits in your hand&there's a bunch swarming over you&you are outnumbered.A friend has bite marks as souvenir on the stomach.

Stacy Bo Bacy

The deer are tame and accustomed to tourists , but they get excited when it comes to eating so be warned! The deer can be aggressive, chase after you or nip at your shirt if you don’t feed them.

Angeline Wee

Been here twice and I don't think I'll ever get bored of it! Wild deers everywhere, buy them crackers if you want. So many temples and shrines to visit. Good for a one day visit.

K B

Love the deer but watch out they are little devils if you’re holding food. We saw one tourist get bitten on the bum!

Elizabeth Burstein

Loved coming here and seeing the deer and large buddhist temple . Biggest bronze buddha in all japan

David B.

Beautiful park , and while it's amazing to have deers roam freely and unafraid of humans, keep in mind that they're live real animals, not toys or decorations. Respect them as such.

Christine Wu

Deer everywhere oh my! Beautiful park , definitely walk through the whole of it and see all of the shrines if you can!

The deer of nara park are wild animals. They can occasionally attack people. So, please be careful.

Jessalynne Peters

Amazing experience! Awesome to see deer so close and be able to touch them. Lots of little carts with cookies to buy for the deer if you're feeling lucky.

Puteri Farah

Note that the deers are not tame! They can bite, kick, butt and knock down any visitors! So your safety is at your own risk! brought cakes and it was stolen by them deers hehehehehe

Kevin Grant

There are deer literally all over the park , all the way up to the temple . Don't just stop at the entrance by the road and think that's it. There's hundreds of them scattered around, if not more.

Jenn

If you are polite to the deer and offer them a deer biscuit , they will often bow before taking it. At least until you're mobbed by 20 at a time.

Rocío González

Lots of temples for visiting & a walk in the woods, surronded by more then a thousand sacred deer . Loved the visit

Rieke Indra Buana

A lot of group coming in the weekend, make sure that you come earlier or on weekdays.. The gorgeous deers will welcoming you as you arrived at Nara. Love it!

Deers are adorable! They are all around you. You can feed them and take pictures with them.

The park is beautiful, but it can be so crowded these days. Also the deer are so used to getting biscuits from visitors- they're quite aggressive now.
