A Grand Mansion conceived and constructed by a Grand Man; an eminent edifice which History calls Home; a peerless representation of this Paradigm Chinese Courtyard House has been perfectly poised for over a century on firm foundations of architectural, cultural and historic superlatives.

Great history inside this great house build. Chinese culture feels so sharp in every single thing here. Cost RM 12 & got guide tour to explain this building on 12 PM, 1.30 PM & 3 PM for one hour.
Time your visit here according to the guide tour sessions as entry is not allowed until 10 minutes before the start of the tour . No shade at the entrance so you will have to wait under the sun.
The hotel is in a great location in Georgetown and the staff do an excellent job of keeping the tours separate from the hotel guest areas. Ask for a room on the quiet side away from the night market .
Can't miss this striking blue house! Tours conducted 3 times daily and can be booked by turning up 10 mins before the tours start.
What a gem of a place in the heart of Penang. So much history in this place and the tour was well worth the ticket price of rm25.
A signature landmark in Georgetown. The area that we were allowed to visit during the tour is unfortunately a little small.
The tour is shorten, many historical facts are summarised, ommited and they failed to share the significants of the house designed, fengshui and his posotion in the government
This place was featured in My Penang show on AFC in October 2014. You can have tea and desserts such as mango sago (seems to contain dairy) and double boiled sweetened lotus seed here.
The mansion tour is 45 mins long: 30 mins for the guide’s boring speech about the history of the mansion & Penang, the rest 15 mins for touring the one unrestricted, nothing to see, area upstairs.
Winner of numerous awards, including the 2000 UNESCO Most Excellent Heritage Conservation Award.
Read the book , so the tour guide sharing sounded bored to me. Also, stand up talk show style not good for tour . Tour should be interactive, fun & walk about. Standing there 30mins, nay. Not effective.
If you wish to visit a house owned by historical rich person, this is the place. nice place for wedding photo shooting session too.
Great tour of a very properly restored mansion. Photography allowed during tour , despite signage. 12 MYR for adults for 1 hour long tour @ 11 am, 1:30 and 3pm.
Gorgeous architectural gem with an interesting history. Amazing detall in the decorations
Beautiful building after carefully refurbished for 6 years ! Must see in Penang !
One of the best hotel experiences of my life. Drop- dead gorgeous building and amazing food.
Come here to learn interesting architectural wonders with east meets west. See how Mr Cheong brought in to Penang steel beams from Scotland, how porcelain bowls are broken to beautify the house & more
Great guide! Tours are 1pm, 2pm & 3:30pm. 17RM entry.
Entry for an adult is RM12 for an amazing tour of an amazing man. Only if had survived the journey to US before he died with pneumonia - Penang will never be the same Penang it is now.
One of the best hotel stays of my life. Atmosphere is incredible and so is the breakfast .
It's a boutique mansion with a fine dining restaurant . The staff especially the Manager Daniel is helpful & friendly
Nice room condition with renovated bathroom even it’s traditional and old building .
Incredibly beautiful and atmospheric place to stay in Penang. Good breakfast too!
RM17 to enter. Personally nothing much to see but the guide was really good, enthusiastic in her 1 hour explanation of the Blue Mansion.
RM12 for a tour , but only the first part of the tour is about the house Everything else was more about ancient Chinese culture which was never practiced in Malaysia.
One of the best attractions in Georgetown. Must come!
Great service! Stay here guide tour is not enough to enjoy.
Tour time: 11am, 1.30pm & 3pm. Fee: RM12/adult & RM6/child below 12yrs old. Duration: One hour tour . Rules: No photography allowed & to stay w group, no wandering.
You're required to take the 1 hour tour ; can't even look at the front of the building unless you book the tour .
Historical building and great service.
For breakfast , choose the omelette . It's really tasty, buttery and fluffy! Even better than at Shangri-La's!
One hour tour for RM 17. Listen to tour guide's explanation more than walking around freely.
3 guided tours a day only. Lasting around 45 mins or so
Visiting hours: 11am, 2pm, 3.30pm. Need to arrive 15min before the timeslot to get tickets.
We got here too late and the gate was closed already.. These are more info on the tour and the costs
Lovely location and it's certainly worth visiting if you are in Penang. Ideal for vintage buff
No photo shooting is allow. The staff will request you to stop photo shooting if you are doing that.
Panda World Tour Malaysia 2015 ????
A must. Excellent tour-guide, just an actress!
Nice food . Will visit again
The guided tour is very long winded
4.15pm is the peranakan style teatime. Sample the kuih and asam laksa by the courtyard .
RM 12 for tour , worth the money! Interesting piece of art .
The rooms are lovely, if you want a splurge .
The Tour leader is a very good story teller :) very impressive!
