【国 指定重要文化財 】指定名称は『大阪城 桜門』...大阪城の多くの櫓や門、蔵などが失火や取り壊しで失われましたが、その後再建 されたものの中で一番新しく再建 されて重要文化財 となっているのがこの『大阪城 桜門』です。桜門は戊辰の役（ぼしんのえき：1868）に焼失 しましたが明治20年（1887）に軍部により徳川時代の様式で再建 されました。門の向こうには天守閣 が見え、絶好の撮影スポットにもなっています。
歩きながら門との距離を調整すれば天守閣 がすっぽり門の中に収まる写真 が撮れます。
天守の真南に位置する桜門。桜門は寛永3年(1626)に徳川時代に創建されたが、慶應4年の明治維新の大火により焼失 し、明治20年に再建 されたもの。その名は近くに桜並木 があったことから由来しています。門の直ぐの内側に立っている桜も見事でした。
