..there's a good food joint insde here for u guys to hve lunch since they're open durin' day time..can't remember the name and plus in front of chow rasta..there's a cendol stall that truly awesome!..
Outside this market , look for the porridge stall . You won't miss since there will be hordes of people queueing. Their fried intestines is top notch.
Go around 9am where the market is buzzing. Try the curry mee at the end of the st. Sooo good. Assam laksa next to famed chendol is only okay. Some souveniers and clothes shops arnd area for cheap .
If u come by this place i strongly recommend u to try chowrasta nasi kandar situated near there. Also there is small stall nearby the roadside. One that really unique is called ais tingkap.
This is Penang's old market . Buy fresh fruits and many local products in here. Dont 4get 2 try window sherbet drink (Ais Tingkap ) in de alley nx to this market . The stall was there for 4 generations.

So many books are lying flat waiting for next owner! Iincredibly cheap , like my favorite one is the 'ancient witch spells' handcrafted notebook, pretty old and maybe pretty who knows, powerful too!
Can get the famous Buah Pala or Nutmeg Jeruk here as a souvenir back apart from the bottles of Perut Ikan. -Penang Kia Food Critique-

I'm attracted to this market not because of vege . But used books . You can buy a thick advanced referenced book at a cheap price. How cheap ? Rm400 become Rm20.
Great choice of pickled fruits . But ppl said they're from Thailand. For authentic pickles , should go for jeruk madu Pak Ali.

Can buy good A level and STPM 2nd hand books at the first floor.Ask the people at the stalls where is it becausr there are a few bookstores located deep in the building.
Beware to those leaving their cars by the roadside. Enforcement officers are there to clamp your car.
Preserve fruits are nice and Mr Bean bear is a steal too :)
