Plenty of choices for vegetables . Have never seen so many bunga kantan (torch lily flowers ) on sale here than in mainland Perai.

The market proper is quite old. Most people prefer the crazy busy roadside stalls outside not to buy stuff but to see what is being sold. Some even sell puppies and terrapins for eating !

Air Itam Market or 'I-tam Ban San' called by the locals. This busy town from wet market to the street, people set up stalls to do business..

check out the tong sui (desserts ) in front of kedai ubat keng gin hoe, next to hai-o during nite if wish to hv s'thing sweet after dinner .

Yummy noodles all along and good price for backpacker. Nice uncle and locals

Parking space is quite limited at this market . You can take Rapid Penang Bus 201, 202, 203, 204 and 206 to go to Ayer Itam Market .

If the laksa stall is too crowded , order and have it delivered to Bean Station (cleaner and air conditioned )

The only reason why we were there was because the Adam laksa stall opposite wasn't open. On a Sunday! But the laksa here ain't bad either :)
