Their attention to detail is AMAZING. They really appeal to all of the senses. The overall design, the smells, the textures. Love this hotel . They make it hard to stay anywhere else in Auckland!

The 2-level O'Connell Suites with view over O'Connell St are "sweet". Really comfy bed , great bathroom with separate monsoon shower . Pay extra for the cooked breakfast add on to continental - worth it

Dinner or high tea this place is sublime. Whichever you visit for, allow yourself plenty of time as if should never be rushed! !

At this funky redo of a turn-of-the-20th-century building, rooms are a riot of graphically patterned carpets, Midcentury furniture in orange and turquoise upholstery, and black-and-white-tiled baths.

Try and get a room above the 1st floor. The first floor rooms face into the public areas of the hotel and lack natural light .
