San Juan Gate is a historic and protected site Old San Juan San Juan located in Puerto Rico.
San Juan 00901 Puerto Rico
This gate was once the main entrance to the city , built to protect the city from invaders in the 1630's. There were once three gates that led into the city , but this is the only one that remains.
Try the walk outside the city wall from boat docks west to the Plaza and then up alongside the city walls. You arrive at the city gate, enjoy sitting under an amazing old tree and watch the waves.
Enter the city like the dignitaries that used to be greeted by the local leaders on this scenic walk along the waterfront
The door leads you to the Paseo de la Princesa. Very scenic walking route, sadly no pets allowed here :( Great place to jog in the morning!
Magnificant!! a sight to behold. The history of this place is impressive. Worth the visit but the walk is a dead end.
Excellent spot to enter the city if you're a spanish colonist unloading supplies from your ship in the 1600s.
