The entry isn't allowed until 10 AM, that's when the first show starts. The shows are in 3 languages Hindi , Bengali and English. Each language show having different timing.
The bags have to deposited at separate counter, so be sure to travel light to this place. However, laptops & cameras are allowed to be carried in.
the hindi shows suck. the revolving night sky is a treat though.

Very historical museum. A must visit place in Kolkata. Ticket is slightly higher for foreigners almost double the local price. Beautiful place indeed - Backpack Stroller
