There are 40 major galleries in 6 different section. Built in 1875 in Italian architecture , this museum is the largest in India and Oldest in Asia.
Real not fair for foreigner, also have EgyptIan mummy in one small room, ORZ!
The museum opens at 10 AM and closes at 5 PM. Cameras are allowed only after paying a fee of INR 50.00. It's huge, so be prepared to spend a lot of time in case you're into history and stuff. :)

Very historical museum. A must visit place in Kolkata. Ticket is slightly higher for foreigners almost double the local price. Beautiful place indeed - Backpack Stroller
