The floating bridge is NOT free. £1.50 adults but free for under 19s.
£2.40 for a car on a 7-day ticket was great value and a unique experience
Don't try to swim if you miss it. The current out to sea is very strong.
Unfortunately the floating bridge only has a start and finish time. The crossings inbetween then are as and when the crew decide. The best thing about it is that it is free for foot passengers.
No longer free for foot passengers, £1.50 for a round trip is still not expensive ...
