As a Victorian, visitors would have seen HMS Warrior 1860 in the same way future generations would regard Concorde & the internet. The world’s first iron-hulled warship powered by steam as well as sail changed the maritime world forever. Yet 10 years later, she was obsolete.

My favourite ship on the site. Her and her sister ship HMS Black Prince were the first iron hulled, armour plated warships ever built. Lucky for us, she never saw combat and can be enjoyed today.
Most powerful battleship of its time. Awesome to explore the decks.
Wonderful example of iron clad warship . Really well preserved detail inside of how the navy lived.
