Amazing structure and u should always take a short break during busy life in Beijing by paying a visit here. Historically awesome!!
Spectacular exhibition on ancient China on the lower level. There were no queues on Wednesday morning. Foreigners have to pickup their tickets on the right (follow the sign with pictures of passports )
Book your free ticket online for easy entry, otherwise prepare to stand in a long queue (1 hr plus) with local tourists .
Do note that the museum is closed on Mondays (as it is with many other museums in Beijing too).
There will be many lines , just be patient. And the "cloak room" is where you get the ticket.
In Summer 2014 there's a temporary exhibition on the top floor about Chinese diplomacy. It's curated in a very partial way.
It is prohibited to wear white shoes , they will become black after intensive queuing with Chinese folks
The museum exhibits are very rich and the facilities are also a very perfect, elegant environment. Can let you deeply experience the history of the country , proud of the country 's culture.
A well done comprehensive museum of history and art of China. You can book online in advance to avoid queues.
Make a online reservation for easy and free entry, otherwise you have to queue outside the gate.
The large-scale exhibition Road to Rejuvenation, which was first staged in 2007 and was again shown to celebrate the 60th anniversary of New China's founding in late-2009, will reopen here on March 1. Read more
Huge place with multiple floors. We spent two hours just on the top floor. Free admission but bring your ID/passports with you
The line can be crazy long in tourist seasons because of the nearby Tiananmen Sq
chinese largest museum , includes history, art and some others.
Admission is not obvious. Non-Chinese have to turn to the right, show a passport & get a free ticket , then turn left & pass security.
The cafe on the ground floor is very reasonable and a welcome place to stop and rest.
After being closed for three years, the museum will re-open on April 1, with two permanent exhibitions , Ancient China and The Road to Rejuvenation, presenting China's different stages of history. Read more
Best part is definitely the Ancient China exhibit that takes up the entire basement .
30min of animation of van Gogh, nothing real but at least it attracted a lot of kids.

China don't build if it not to big.
Super crowded place. You have to wait for 30 minutes to get the tickets and another one hour to get in the show room.
Nice architecture . Chinese history is interesting.
Not crowded . Weekdays is so peaceful . The security is very severe.
Formerly known as Museum of the Chinese Revolution and the National Museum of Chinese History .
It’s 2023. Still need 40+ minutes to the show rooms.
The underground ancient section
Free entrance for all human in the world. Being identity doc.
Almost everything is closed inside... one hour inside is definitely enough. Hopefully in the future they gonna open more stuff later.
Every monday is closed. Every museum is same in Beijing.
Buy a ticket at north gate for 10 to avoid the lines
So many people queued.
Too many people here

Louis Vuitton Voyage Exhibiton - 6 June to 30 Aug 2011
Long line for free admission . Any fser here?
