秀頼・淀殿ら自刃の地 is a historic and protected site osaka Chūō located in Japan.

慶長20年(＝元和元年、1615)の大坂夏の陣では旧暦の5月8日、徳川軍に追い詰められた豊臣秀頼とその母淀殿が、山里丸にあった櫓にひそみ自害したと多くの記録が伝えている。それにちなんで平成9年(1997)、現在の山里丸の一画に大阪市の手によりこの記念碑 が建てられた。(説明板より)

城内第一位の巨石「蛸石」（推定重量130t）。石の表面に鉄分が染み出ていて、その模様が蛸に見えるということからついた名前らしい。すぐ西側にも城内第三位の巨石「振袖石」（推定重量120t）がある。 - Yoshiro T
After Tokugawa's army burnt down the castle grounds in 1615, he ordered the Daimyo to rebuild them. The scattered stones were used in the reconstruction and are carved with many daimyo family crests. - Steve
