My favorite place in Galveston. They have done a good job restoring the museum after the hurricane. The model train building is my favorite. You also get to go inside the train cars. Very cool!

Compared to other railroad museums I've visited, this one is fairly large. They have a parking lot on Santa Fe Place so you don't have to fight for Strand parking .

Towering at the head of the Strand , the vast Railroad Museum boasts one of the largest restored railroad collections in the southwest, and one of the five largest in the country .

The minature train set is beautiful. They present the history of Galvenston's railroad adventures very well . I recommend it.

Great place to take kids. Be sure to check out all of the trains . You can ring the bell of one!

There is more here than people think! Women and kids will love it too! If you like history, you'll want to spend hours.

It's great fun for kids , but if you actually want to learn anything on the self guided tour , leave the kiddos at home. :-)

The place has some unique looking trains . Parking is a bit pricey and it’s a long walk to the entrance.

Lots of cool engines , rolling stock and other rail-road exhibits . Check out the 2 Santa Fe F7 locomotives recently added.

Always fun. Still a few trains closed from Ike I guess. Always a pleasant step back in time.

They're open again, although missing a lot of their displays. Still, it's totally worth the $6 admission!
