I'm a very picky laksa person. But.. The laksa here and the one opposite(哑巴bisu) is seriously the best of the best! Both taste great. Do give both a try instead of just one. #TwoIsBetterThanOne

Some say it's the best. I have to agree and disagree. It's among my favourites but it's not at the top spot. Anthony Bourdain loves this on his show, No Reservations .

One of the best Asam Laksa you'll taste in Penang. Authentic and flavorful, RM5 for one bowl. Standards have dropped a bit but still worth a try!

One of the famous touristy asam laksa place. Surrounding can be very hot and uncomfortable. Laksa without prawn paste tasted very bland, best to go with it. Best combo fried popiah dip with laksa soup

Come here for to me the best assam laksa in Penang ! But be prepare to share table, sweat like pig . But its worth it !

My fav laksa in Penang . Super pack all the time but no worries, you can get a seat in a seconds. Love the lobak stall just beside, a must order too. More surprised me, parking only rm0.40!

Can't get this consistency of Asam Laksa KL. Usually those in KL are too watery. Pasar Air Itam Asam Laksa had a thick flavorful broth with the right amount of spiciness that keeps you wanting more

Quick and efficient service . A bowl cost only RM4.50. Good place to come to have a taste of Asam Laksa . Servicing just nice. Environment is not the best.

Despite the foul smelling market behind and the unhygienic drains in front, this place has been drawing the crowds for the past 60 years!

Although it was fully packed with people, food came fast and service is friendly . Delicious!

Eewww.. Dirty , Not local people's choice. Try their opposite one Bisu Laksa , not bad at least they are clean . Another one is located at Jalan Rambutan opposite Fairy Heights, that one really must try.

Very good, but that's a drop from legendary. Peripherals are good with broth being veritable spice garden , with bunga kantan prominent. Tad short of uncontested fishy richness.

Due to a family fued , the main chef has flown the nest and joined his daughters shop in Klang . If he held back some secrets it shows. The soup is not as good. Too sweet. No kick.

I love street food but felt a bit disappointed by this laska. The broth has a strong fishy aroma along with prawn paste became overwhelming. Preferred the laksa near Penang Famous Chendol.
