Rapid fast! We got there at around 10am, which is relatively late when you are going to a busy government office . Had to wait in line only for about 20 minutes . Staff is friendly , courteous & helpful.

Incredibly efficient and polite staff . Showed up at 9am on a weekday and was done by 9:30. They have all the paperwork you need on site so no need to do it in advance.

Very nice SS office ! The line moves fast. If you are ready with all your docs, you are in and out in less than 30 min. I was there on a Tuesday around 10:30am.

I went Friday at 10am and waited less than half an hour. Security guards were nice, calm , patient, and friendly . Service was fast and intelligent. So surprised!

You must have a valid ID to obtain a social security card , but in order to get a valid NY State ID, you must have a social security card . Welcome to the infinite loop of hell.

There were 18 people ahead of me and I only had to wait for 15 minutes . Fast service . Though some clerks don't really know what they're doing and gave me wrong information the first time. Bring pens.

Being your own pen, there's a bunch of guys here walking around asking for pens! Who doesn't have a pen with them? Carry one in your bag, purse etc.

All outlets are covered with signs stating "No phone charging through federal property." I thought I paid for the luxury of federal property. At least offer us pens!

If you're starving and want to eat a breakfast sandwich and drink coffee , don't. They make you throw it out even after they said I could eat it in the hallway.

In at 7:45 out at 8:45. They don't actually give you your card. They enter your info and then mail it.

I arrived at 3pm on a Friday to have my name changed and request a new card. Waited 5 minutes and my number was called. Total time was 20 minutes . Success!

To get an item apostiled the government worker is the rudest New Yorker and when you point out how rude she is she will yell and deny the fact. She the vinegar of the honey .
