I've had a lot of bacon/pork belly from a lot of restaurants in many different states , this is by far the best I've had in MA. It's also nice to be able to get a meal that's filling, & not all carbs.
The Chicken Milanesa Torta was exquisite. The Garlic Mayo mixed with the avocado on top just brought out the crisp chicken crunch. I highly recommend it if you're here for brunch .
Okay, so you're going to get brunch and you're going to get the Superbeasto . Oh, and ask them about the carrot ginger habanero sauce . You might end up stealing the bottle because it's so damn good.
Do yourself a favor and get the Superbeasto w/ a blood orange mimosa . Honorable mention: The Iced Coffee Horchata . Incredible food and great service! You will not be disappointed.
One of the best meals I've ever had. From appetizer to dessert . The duck tamale , Phenomenal. The Blt taco , amazing. The avocado coconut ice cream , refreshing. And of course the cucumber margarita .
The "pork belly " appetizer is a must, as is the chorizo taco with the egg on top. The Cuban sandwich is also quickly becoming a favorite, and the Oaxacan grits are the best grits I've ever had.
Go with the Pork Carnitas Taco . It must be what the gods feast upon. It's like sex in your mouth.
Mad this place has been here a while and it's just my first time here. Everything was phenom: pork belly guac , nachos , carne asada , chorizo tacos , and shrimp tacos . All ridiculously great.
Super fun and the food is delicious! Get the mango margarita and try and sit by a window. It can get loud !
Really really solid spot, good beer selection and the tacos are all great (try the chorizo and egg ) . Try the chicharron with mango too as an appetizer
(Best of Boston 2013-MEXICAN) Improper Bostonian says, "A newly expanded bar stocked with more than 100 bottles of craft tequilas make this the city 's ground zero for fierce margaritas ."
Every kind of margarita you can imagine, all freshly made . Get two tacos if you go that route. The tortas are great too.
The Painted Burro is more Latin American than classic Mexican, though grilled fish and meat and moles — all made with really fresh ingredients — fill the menu here.
Other reviewers are right about the pork belly appetizer - definitely a must! The mango margarita was delicious as well ????
Enjoyed the unique takes on the PORK CARNITAS and SHORT RIB ROPA VIEJA tacos . I would definitely return for more.
Good selection of margaritas , from very sweet to more savory. Best Mexican food I've found in Cambridge (at least for sit-down restaurants ).
House margarita is really excellent— not too sweet. The homemade chorizo tacos with farm egg are amazing, and it's required that you get the Mexican Street Corn .
The GRITS. Bites of fluffy cheesy heaven. Best I have ever had. The baja fish taco and Blt tacos hit the spot too.
In tiny font at the bottom right of the menu: the date the menu was printed . They change it up often, so keep an eye try food & drink with seasonal ingredients .
The cucumber infused tequila is phenomenal! Makes for a fantastic margarita . Try it on the rocks-you won't regret it!
Great margaritas and guac ! Kitchen is closed for a couple hrs between lunch and dinner , but you can still get drinks and chips in the bar area.
Shrimp tacos were good, and the house margarita was strong! We felt kind of rushed by the service though. Don't feel pressured to inhale your food. We avoided the wait by eating at 6 p.m. too.
If you get the guac ... the pork belly addition is totally worth it!
Upscale Mexican. Wide range of margaritas . Tacos , tortas , and enchiladas all good.
The swordfish plate was tasty but the kale plantation side dish was an amazing balance of salt and sweet.
A few standouts like the tamarind-glazed chicharrón and spicy chipotle chocolate ice cream . Read the full review at: http://now.tufts.edu/articles/dish-painted-burro
Step 1: Go with a friend. Step 2: Order the shrimp tacos and the chorizo & egg tacos to share. Step 3: Die of joy.
The food was just alright, but the drinks were fantastic! Location is great too and I love the decor. It seems kind of on the pricey side, but maybe that's just greater Boston.
Service is quick and the manager will come around to check in and see how your meal is going. Service is excellent.
You can't go wrong with any of their gigantic tacos ???? skip the sandwiches .
Monday night is secret fajita night. The handmade flour tortillas are killer. Get extra.
A little pricey but honestly worth every penny! Try the empanada appetizer , the dipping sauce is crazy.
The Yucatan meatloaf was excellent. I hope they bring it back. Get the pork shank .
Brunch is amazing! Get the Hair of the Dog and Guacamole !
Surprisingly extensive drink menu. Come for the nachos , stay for the beer/margaritas/cocktails.
The tacos are amazing! They're handmade tortillas and the flavored explode in your mouth.
Excellent spot to go with friends. Good drinks and hearty portions !
Fancy tequila and mezcal dranks. For when Border Cafe just isn't classy enough for you (it could happen).
Excellent margaritas and food. It's more of a tapas style place but the tacos were great!
The 'cholo' corn cob and 'baja-style' fish taco are both incredible. Guacamole was solid but nothing to really write home about
get the pork belly guac to start, then a carnitas/shrimp taco plate - OMG yum
If you go for brunch , try the alcoholic horchata . Its massive, but absolutely devine
Chicken Milanese is tasty and filling
Tacos and margaritas are so delicious!
Here for brunch ? Get the Horchata and El Montenero. So much food, so much deliciousness.
Get half mango , half diabo marg for a spicy , fruity kick in the mouth.
loud , but fun! queso dip is delish and margaritas are pretty solid too
Tequila flights are fun and go well with the pork belly guacamole
Get tacos and churros (the latter comes with Taza Chocolate dipping sauce !)
Nachos are out of this world!
Everything! But today i got a burrito with carnitas, refried beans, rice, lettuce, jalapeño and a jarrito of Tamarindo to wash it down. Arroz con dulce for desert. - Heriberto Hernández III
The margarita choices are extensive and delicious. You can go classic or mix it up with one of their wilder options! - Restaurant.com
The longaniza sausage appetizer is AMAZING! It's basically a mini longaniza taco bar and it's a divine experience. - Emily G
Lots of excellent cocktails— try anything and you'll be pleased. Desserts are good and not too large, too. - Connor Ferguson
Great Thursday night spot. Live music. Great bartenders. Outdoor seating for dinner - Steph Katrina
Great draft list, a nice smokey Mezcal cocktail. Parmesean-Truffle fries, and the Croque-Madame was exquisite. - Chris Jones
