I freaking love coming here when I'm in town . The chowder is some of the best I've ever had, and the fish & chips are great. I know everyone says to get a Guinness , but go Harpoon here

The Next Great Generation (Boston)

The best night to go is Tuesday for their long-standing open mic night , which showcases a lot of local talent in a variety of music genres. The Burren also occasionally has live bands on weekends. Read more

Brendan Sullivan

Classic feel of an Irish pub with several UK beers on tap (Guinness , Belhaven, Harp, O'Hara's, Smithwick's). Live events in both front and back rooms. Also, very vegetarian-friendly menu!

Cristina Ruiz

The Somerville Road Runners host a 3-mile run starting from here every Monday evening at 6:45. Good route and free food (beef stew & veggie pasta ) afterward!

Peter Salem

Surprisingly variant menu, even for vegan . Vegan burger with fries , spinach and hummus plate , and a beer . Very fun, but very loud place

Jeremy Krantz

One of the best places to get a pint of Guinness in the Boston area. Also has live music 7 nights a week. Great pub .

Rachel Smith

If you can... Get here on Sunday nights for Tom Bianchi and co, and Tuesday nights for open mic night hosted by the incredibly talented Hugh McGowan!!! Both in the back room =)

Chadwick K

Classy Irish pub but when I say classy , imagine yourself next to rough hewn benches , no-name musicians , draught beer they pour the head off unto slats, and delectable food.

Guy

Try and get a seat in the front if you want to avoid a busy atmosphere. Also, be sure to order an Otter Creek Black IPA , amazing blend between a Guinness and nice IPA .

Ananda Mitchell

Really great place for vegetarian and vegan options . Always packed on the weekends and has great live music !

Boston.com

Irish music playing in the front room as well as live music in the back room. There will also be corned beef and cabbage and other Irish favorites served all day. Read more

OurStage

Sign up at 6:30 p.m. to show off your new tunes at the low-key Tuesday night open mic . You won’t even have to worry about messing up that super tough guitar part! More venues @ http://ourstage.us/3o

Nick Holroyd

Free (and hysterical) stand up comedy show on wednesdays in the back room.

Shannon Vossler

I don't know how or why, but they probably have the best tasting Smithwicks in all of Boston. Bartenders are also super charming and great to chat up!

Dan Fogarty

Doesn't look like a place you can trust the salmon . But the salmon was really good! Four smiley emojis out of 5 ????????????????

Steph Katrina

Great Thursday night spot. Live music . Great bartenders . Outdoor seating for dinner

Dimitris Spiliakos

Friendly service , tasty pints and live music make this neighborhoodsy pub a cozy escape.

Michael "Bass Man" M.

Food was good, stick to your ribs comfort food , generous portions , but a little pricey (not outrageous, but on the high end ). Live music was great but made conversation difficult.

George Lee

Fun place! Live music in one room and open mic in the other! And beer !

BostonTweet

Burren has live Irish music 7 nights/week & fantabulous Guinness . While you're there chat with Java behind the bar - don't worry, you'll eventually be able to decipher his thick Irish accent.

Carla D'Avanzo

One of my favourite place in somerville with good live music and nice crowd ;)

Jenni Russell

There's a Mediterranean sampler on the menu. It may not be traditional Irish fare, but it is delicious.

Mike Nickerson

The fish n chips and tartar sauce with a harpoon ipa outside on a warm summer night...can't get any better than that

Aaron Bell

Tasty full Irish breakfast , generously sized kids menu items.

Jackiez Gonzalez

Best 80s cover band ever. Thursday nights, no cover, starts around 10:30p. So good!

Nick Scott

Excellent neighborhood pub . Go for the Beatles Brunch Sundays 12-3

Paul Lyons

Great Trad Session in Front Room. Get there early. Back Room jammed for Rock Cover Band on Saturday Night . The Place was Rockin'. 26+6=1.

Chris Patti

The pick up Celtic folk bands that play here on weekend afternoons and at random other times are awesome if you can catch one! As others have said the curry fries rock too :)

The Feast

Tuesday night is open mic and there's live music most evenings, but we suggest you go Wednesday at 10 for the Back Room comedy night.

Tracy Spetka

Start your weekend right with Thursday Burrsday. Or, go for beers or brunch any other time.

BU Today

A few doors down from Sligo is the Burren, offering traditional Irish music 7 nights a week. Read more

Get this: the back room is full of tables and you can easily get a seat if you show up at happy hour , instead of peak hour.

Alex Dobyan

Do yourself a favor and skip Thursday nights when it's mobbed for Scattershot - not worth it to see a middling 80s cover band.

Peter Himler

Fresh mussels , bread , not do. 1970s prices.

Filiz M

Go and enjoy!

Matt Aromando

Stand-up comedy show on most Wednesdays at 10pm.

Brian Manning

Late night live music with nostalgic classics.

Nelson Joyce

Get a Guinness and listen to the shitty bands in back. Can't go wrong.

Patricia

Come for the cover band on Saturday nights to relive all of the worst parts of college.

Rob Rich

When you ask for a pint at an Irish Pub they should know to bring you a Guinness .

James Martin

The best Guinness in town .

Jeff Tucker

Cool spot to grab a pint of Harpoon !

William Hall

Early weekdays the patio is wide open n live music all the time

Jenni Russell

One of the best places anywhere to get a Guinness .

Alexandra Mottern

get the mac n cheese !

Mazda

A geniune "Irish Pub " with live music , quality Guinness , and pub food .

Kat Powers

The beer 's nice and all, but do yourself a favor and order a basket of fries with curry on the side.

Derek

Glasses were dirty . Overall friendly staff GREAT PLACE!

Zopaipilla Marielle

Good for beer maybe but the good way terrible. Mahi Mahi was completely flavorless and the pulled pork was dry and was mostly bread . Wouldn't go again.
