Want to avoid the crowds or see the ships from ground level? For a spectacular view Just follow the road down the canal , left from the central building with the museum . You will be the only one there.
The chanel is amazing and the guided tour is more than worth it! The museum and the movie section are very interesting and the food + view from the restaurant Atlantic & Pacific are a must!
I must say it was way better than I expected! Come early (9-10am) to see the ships coming through. 4th floor deck is usually full, so be patient. Watch the video! $15 visitors and $3 residents.
Wow, so magnificent of a structure . Amazing museum that walked through the history, the politics and socioeconomics of the canal . Could be better if it showed some negative sides of it. Great work!
Must see! 100 years on its still captivating. Ticket includes entrance to the museum and the short film !
An engineering marvel. Make sure to go between 2 and 3 pm or before 10am to see some ships . Don't stay too late or you'll hit the insane rush our traffic in the evening.
They take credit cards in the entrance and also in the café downstairs. We came with uber and it was great and cheap like 5 dollars from punta pacifica (promo code kg186 if you want -10$)
If you’re in Panama City , you must see it. Though its two “lanes” of canals make it look like the ships might be able to go in both directions at the same time.
Uber there. You have to cab back unless you want to walk down to the end of the hill . They’ll negotiate. He wanted $20 to Casco Viejo. We talked him down to $12 and probably still overpaid.
The feeling of passing through the Canal in a Cruise ship is amazing, a unique experience that makes you part of history, try it if you can.
30 min of "partial tour " was just enough for me to see one ship coming in miraflora locks and going out, the terrace on the 4th floor is comfortable for watching and for taking picks.
Great place to spend a few hours, might as well try the roof restaurant , order a couple of drinks and watch the ships go thru the locks
Wonderful place to visit a must for any visited to Panama. Come here if you want to see big boats cross the locks !
This places closes at 4. So get there by 3 to get through museum and movie and see at least one set of boats get through.
Us$400.000 toll for each ship to cross and they still charge you for just look around.
Engineering wonder . Restaurant only serves buffet lunch and souvenir store needs more variety
It's a great experience to see te process of the boats leaving the canal .
Doesn't open until 9a, so if you were planning to try to check it out on the way to your departing flight, think again. An ok view of the second lock can be seen from the road a little way down.
One of the Engineering Wonders of the World
Liked the docu, but the museum was not great. The whole canal is so much more interesting at different spots. I only paid that much money just to have been there.
Best place to get it all in is at the Miraflores Locks museum & restaurant .
Fascinating watching the boats move thru the locks
It's a historical and geopolitically important Bucket List item, that is quite boring in person. So, yeah... Been there, done that.
Watch the boats passing through from Miraflores visitor centre.
Ranked high on "rise above it all" list!
Be here before 8am to at least see 1 ship go through
Cab ride should not cost more than $5 per person. If more than one, then will be less. Ex. Ride for two we paid $7 from Casca Viejo.
Excellent trip..very interesting tour around the different islands
Very cool to see how this all works

Legen... Wait for it... dary!
@capt. M you look fast. but soon you will be representante again
Place is very crowded
Beautiful place.
Impressive shit.
Demasiadas foreign blondies, matures & milfs #uff
No bagels for those locks .
The view of the Canal from the 2nd Floor restaurant terrace is amazing... - David Berrios
The admission fee is quite steep at $20, but the museum is interesting and you can catch a glimpse of ships passing through the locks. One and done, for sure. - Nathan
