Bring some binoculars with you if you can! But don’t worry the lighthouse leave binoculars and spotting scopes out for use.. Theses are chained up for security reasons but you can still use them.
My mother when she was alive absolutely loved St Marys Lighthouse . We used to laugh when she said it was named after her. A very special place in our families hearts.
Lovely place to visit. Just check the tide times first if you want to head over the island the lighthouse is on
A good place for exploring rock pools and for wildlife watching (sea birds and seals ). Don't forget to check the nature reserve behind the car park .
Absolutely loads of seals out on the rocks. Magical place
Every thing
Once I found a live lobster under a big rock when it was a spring tide
Check out the WW2 Bunker in the rocks next to the light house.
Well worth a visit.
Lush when it's hot
Cold and wet
Go rockpooling with my 4 year old and search for crabs !
Great place for blowing the cobwebs out your ears! Lovely walk to the lighthouse and back towards Tynemouth priory. Keep a holding your hat, as a strong gust will have it away! - Silvaring
