The road up may be closed when snow is forecast ; do call ahead to check and avoid disappointment. Near the top there is a nice spot to look out on southern Tasmania. We saw a rainbow!

W C

Bring something warm as it can get really really windy at the top and there is not much shelter. Worth the drive up the mountain to see the beautiful views of Hobart .

Shore Excursions Group

Don't forget to pack warm. Even on a 14 degree day, when you reach the pinnacle , it's like minus four degrees. Gloves, scarf and something to cover your ears is a must.

Grace Leung

Love the view but would recommend driving up. It's a long steep walk uphill

Andrew Sheppard

Pretty incredible views and a drive you won't soon forget!

Bommy

Stellar view . Be careful going up - the roads are narrow and winding. Only a 30 minute drive from the city center.

Sophia Canavati

Stunning view ! Cold as *** durning winter, snow is beautiful tho. Super windy at the very top.

Great views ! Make sure you go up when is not cloudy though

This is the sort of road where the sign says in one part - beware rock (singular) falls. One rock the size of a car had fallen on the road .

Stef van der Krieken

Only go to the summit on a nice clear day!

Ildefonso Ogdoc

Always check the forecast ! If precipitation is above 40%. There's a high chance of heavy snowfall up the peak.

Thomas

It's 1270 metres above sea level so always take a jacket . It's never going to be hot up there.

Be prepared for your auto car locking to fail. Signs in visitors centre explain why and numbers for help if needed. Happened to us.
