What a nice and chilly place in an old Dutch building. The former post office is now a creative and pleasant cafe . It's very quiet which I enjoyed so much in beautiful but often noisy Sri Lanka .

Great place. For couples, take the verandah only double room with BnB for 45-50 USD per night. Bicycles available for rent for rs 100 per hour. Use to cycle around fort. A/C and hot water available.

Chicken steak was lovely. Beautifully decorated cafe with a rustic feeling . Come here if you're tired of having local Sri Lankan cuisine. Food is reasonable priced and delicious.

Very good Sinhalese breakfast with good coffee . British style decoration. Friendly and supporting service guys. They kept our bags there with no problems.

If you're like me and going to Pedlar's Inn mainly for the brownies , then I highly recommend their soups as a prelude. We tried French onion and cream of chicken , both were light but filling.

Let me give you a tip. Do not order mains. Order soup and dessert .. Brownies with ice cream is awesome.. Garlic prawn soup is heaven..

Followed the recommendations and ordered the Basil chicken and then the Brownie for dessert . Needless to say, was not disappointed at all! They were both excellent!

Had the club sandwich and that was huge. Generous slices of ham and had an omelette in it. Bread was toasted to perfection.

If u r eating @ nite, their indoor dim mood lighting can be dangerous. Watch out for obstructions like high uneven steps & resident tortoises :-)

Heard great reviews but I wasn't impressed with the pasta . Had a Arabiatta, which had way too many capers which overpowered the entire dish. The carbonara was good and so was the service/atmosphere.

Cute little cafe . The food, meh. I tried the spaghetti marinara (straightforward, not spectacular) and the avocado prawn (prawn with a curious avocado sauce ). The menu is nothing to write home about.

Someone mentioned the brownie and ice cream . No idea why. Ice cream is the cheap chemical stuff, even had been partially melted and refrozen for added class . Brownie was okay, but nothing special.
