「ならまち ねこまつり」明日から始まるよ！近鉄奈良駅から商店街を抜けて、南へ南へと進めば、町家が軒を連ねる奈良町 が目の前に広がります。 江戸時代から続く奈良町 には、むかし沢山の猫たちが暮らしていました。 そんな猫たちをテーマに奈良町 のアート作家達が中心となって開催した猫作品展そうして、猫好きは、何時しかこの辺りを 『にゃらまち』 と呼ぶようになったのです。
三室一列型の部屋配置で通り庭を備えた主屋に、中庭 で隔てて離れを設けた典型的な「うなぎの寝床」の町家建築 。案内にある「つし二階」は漢字では「厨子二階」。江戸時代は武士を見下さないよう二階建が禁止されていたが、それに対抗するように屋根裏に虫籠窓を設け、物置や使用人部屋として利用したことが始まり。箱階段も「これは 2 階へ登る階段ではありません」と言い訳するための工夫。
庭が美しいです。この街の家の特徴や独特な造りをボランティアの方が説明してくれます。

開館時間は、9：00～16：30（入場は16：00まで）。月曜日（月曜が祝日の場合はその翌日）、年末年始（12月29日～1月3日）は閉館してます。駐車場は8:30～17:00ですが、年末年始も開放されています。無料ですので、何かにつけてよくお世話になります＾＾ - K.Watch
Nara park with deer i think marvelous place to enjoy with free entrance fee and you can enjoy to touch & selfie with deer. I never go such a place very tame animal and open area ! - Putra Putera
