1132 N US Highway 31 N Traverse City , MI 49686 United States
I have been coming since I was 12. Now as an adult I still say this is the best State Park n MI! Beach ! Awesum staff ! & A @meijers just a few minutes away. So u can 4get everthing at home. LOL
The traffic is heavy at all times of day, and night, and the campsites are right on the road . So, if you want to sleep(in a tent), pick a site as far from the gate as you can.
Nice campground ... Little too close to the hustle and bustle of Traverse . Bathrooms were a long walk if you didn't have a site right in the middle. Heard the airport all night and day.
Awesome area! So much to keep you busy, running, biking , swimming shopping, ziplining and a beautiful place to just relax.
There's a bike trail called the TART behind the campground that goes all the way to downtown Traverse City and leads to area businesses. Use the trail for a convenient way to get around Traverse City
No real defined camping sites . No pads for RVs. Park any which way. Great if you have multiple RVs camping together, but if you are alone it isn't the best scenario. Clean & the staff is friendly .
Right across the street from the Hampton Inn and if you go after 7pm then you may not need the park pass ;)
Bring your bike to enjoy the TART trail . Geocaches nearby, as well .
Rated one of the top State Park beaches in the state !
Nice beach for sunsets .
Realize that you will have a jet airliner alarm clock and coast guard choppers keeping you up at night.
This is an awesome camp ground! I will definitely be coming back!
The beach is a short walk across the highway.
Decent public beach access that isn't super crowded all the time.
Have great showers & the staff are super nice. :)
Busy place but the mini cabins rock!
One of the best State Parks (and MI has plenty of gr8 ones). The Rangers here really care for their campers! - Tim
Beautiful lake views. Be aware, just on the other side of fence of the north campground, mid August is band practice. Evening and 8 am weekdays. Think twice about staying in a tent down that way. - Colleen Krohn
Awesome place! Kids always had something to do. My only complaint is the bathrooms are not the cleanest and will shut down in the middle of the day when they do clean them. - Jenn Nareski White
Great beach for the family. There is plenty of shade if you want it. The water tends to be a bit chilly but it is only about 6 feet deep at the end of the swim area. - Mark Darket
Beautiful blue and green water. They call is Pure - YaYa R
SO good!! The best chicken wings, burgers, and dessert! - Christina Hearth
This is a beautiful place to do a morning paddle. The water is so calm clear. - Christopher Jones
