Voted Best Jazz Club by City Pages in 2012. Whatever your music tastes may be, you are bound to come across either an old or a new favorite playing at the Dakota on any given night of the week.
I've never had oysters as phenomenal. And if you are with a group not as fond of oysters as you, the bread that comes with it dipped in the sauce is heavenly.
Great atmosphere! Great "date" spot. We could actually talk and the music was great. Only Downfall no ranch dressing ????! The food was great - Salmon Sandwich yummy!
Catch the late show , sit in a romantic booth and order from the late night happy hour menu for the perfect (inexpensive ) date
My FAV place to hangout when I'm in the Cities . Great music and food. Love their Belvedere gimlet cocktails :)
The music is great and the food phenomenal!! One our our favorite venues. You can always guarantee you'll have a great time!!
Voted as Best Late Night Dining by City Pages in 2010. Get in before midnight and you can have a nice little feast for less than you’d get for that old Miles Davis album.
Voted Best Jazz Club by City Pages in 2011! The club is regarded as one of the premier jazz clubs in the world, and the sound is always first rate.
The standard line on the Dakota is that it has the best food of any jazz club in the country . Read more
Along with Yoshi's in San Francisco, this is one of the two nicest jazz clubs I've ever been to.
Great place to catch some really good music and nice bite to eat. Romantic , eclectic , a good classic!
The perfect mix of music and great food. The food enhances listening experience, and the music enhances the food. It's the perfect dance ! Read more
If you are there for the music , before they seat you, ask if your seats have an unobstructed view of the stage. Many don't and are sold at same price without warning.
Realy nice place and nice food.
Went here for my cousin's rehearsal dinner . The food was delicious, but the music was incredible! What an amazing evening.
Their pisco sour is one of my favorite cocktails in town . Bitter blood orange juice and honey peppercorn syrup . Amazing.
Order the scallops ! So good. The fries with bernaise are also great.
Minneapolis! R&B vocalist José James plays the Dakota 12/14/11 at 7 & 9:30pm!! You won't want to miss this one! Give us a shout (@AMIagency) when you check in!
Order drinks as soon as possible.
Unique place to have a great dinner and listen to some home grown jazz !
Flatbread and spreads are great for a classy app while enjoying jazz and cocktails .
The concerts are wonderful and the prices are really reasonable for the shows
Food is good but a bit overpriced, though the house burger is a good fit! Don’t sit in table 113 if you want to see/hear band well , but most other seat areas are fine.
Try the Jalapeno Poppers . These trashy-wonderful bar menu poppers are stuffed with fontina cheese , wrapped in speck ham , and lolling in chipotle cream.
Live music is great, just get the set menu option, sit back and relax
Check out the free jazz nights to hear some great jazz , for free.
Cover for the shows are waived w/ a $20 per person purchase on Foodie Nights. Live music from folks like Les Nubians, Judy Collins and Bobby Lyle.
An intimate place for incredible music , food, and drink. Check out late night groups like Viva Brazil .
No bad seats in the house for sound, but sightlines can be iffy from some spots.
Voted Best Jazz Club by City Pages Best of 2014!
Best late-night music in town - for $5 Friday and Saturday come see great local musician - some jazz , some not.
Next time I’m going just for the show My Burger got your fries faded!
Don't sit on the upper level against the wall directly in front of the stage. Seems counter intuitive but upper level seats on the sides of the stage have better views of the stage.
The potato leek and arugula soup is just the best!
Make sure to catch Kevin Bowe and the Okemah Prophets/Alison Scott!
Great food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere
Get the assortment of smoked fish & the cheese plate !! To die for!!! (cheese plate may not be on the menu but they'll make u one) happy nibbling!!
Expensive, not entirely sure it's worth the price but great concert venue !
One of the JNG's favorite places to play!
Nachito Herrera playing? Don't sleep. Less $$ than the big names that come through, but consistently amazing on the keys.
Great food. Fabulous venue.
Don't tip on the admission fee that is added onto your food and drink bill.
Burger with white cheddar was the best burger we have ever had... Top notch
Lots of alcohol . If that's not what you're after, keep going. Great steak though!
Bar seating is not ideal for hearing the show
Be sure to hit the Dakota next time Nellie McKay comes through town . You won't be disappointed.
Great Show!
Stop by for the late shows - (Midnight ish)....see legit up and comers....
one of the best sounding rooms for a show, bar seats are awesome!
Two words, Viva Brazil ! The local music here is 1st rate must hear!
LOVELY! Perfect setting for intimate lunch, brunch, dinner. Perfect for special celebrations! Can’t wait to return! - Elizabeth Nicol
A must visit in Minneapolis! Hard to beat the view and the food is fresh and tasty. The fish tacos and Nokomis dog are good beta. - Michelle Sharp
The food, the service and music - Gree Al-sheikh
Great communal atmosphere, especially for watching football. Now with brunch! Try the breakfast shepherds pie. - Teddy Eisenberg
Shepherd's pie was really great, with ground lamb and beef. Also nice cider and wine options for the non-beer drinkers. The outdoor patio is the way to go in summer. - Satia Stevens
Awesome tequila selection and delicious tacos. But on the pricy side, though. - Jon Mayfield
