First time walking Sleeping Bear Dunes and I loved it! ???? I didn’t make it all the way to see Lake Michigan though. Lol. But I will be back to conquer the walk again. Reminder bring water and snacks .
Wear socks. Sandles sink in sand, barefoot it can be to hot and shoes fill up with sand to fast. Socks are your best bet if walking the entire thing. Minimum 2 bottles if not 3 if walking to water
Kids enjoyed the side trails . Getting into Lake MI is worth the hike ! Bring more than one bottle of water per person, and the sunscreen...it's a 3-hour hike .
The dunes are a beautiful and if you climb high enough, you can see both lakes from either side. Be sure to bring enough water for your hike , and be prepared to go for quite a long walk.
Be sure to pack a lunch and go to Picnic Mountain ! The sights are fabulous, but it's busy. I went on a Tuesday, and it was quite crowded . I'd hate to see a weekend!
Empire Bluffs trail is relatively easy and ends with a stunning view of the lake .
A must see in Michigan ! Bring lots of later to drink!
Sea, sand and sky. I didn’t actually expect the sand dune to take me right down to the lake
Get here just before sunset and be delighted
Scenic drive is awesome. Cottonwood trail gives you a nice overview (40 min hike )
A must go place up north... The park staff is extremely friendly As well
Best to go sleeping beat is with 65 to 70 temperate we can walk on sand with barefoot. Plus bring water too.
