Angel of the North is a monument Newcastle upon Tyne located in United Kingdom.
Durham Rd (Junction A1 Western bypass & A167 Old) Newcastle upon Tyne United Kingdom
One of the UK’s most famous pieces of art , the Angel welcomes you to the north with open arms, and watches over you as you study!
An icon of the North East. Easily visible from the motorway , too, if you don't have time to pull off and visit it properly.
Several maquettes were produced during the development stage of the project. A man-sized model from which the sculpture was created was sold at auction for £2 million in July 2008.
Iconic monument signifying the resurgence of the region.
What an impressive structure . You can't miss it driving into Newcastle - I thought it was a WWII bomber the first time I saw it.
Free and not so crowded . Has an ice cream and coffee / tea van
I really enjoyed our stop here. This sculpture is amazing.

Catching it at different times and angles
If you stand between it's legs and look up you will discover that the angel of the north is no angel
Beautiful. Huge. Iconic . Definite must see.

If you are travelling north, you can see it to your right from the motorway .
Definitely worth a look!

Stantons Fish is class two for one Tuesday - Dennis Barker
It's a great place to spend the day. One of the best malls in the UK in my opinion. So many shops and a variety of them. If your in Newcastle then defiantly come here. - Thomas Sidney
