Duck rice/noodles: What I enjoyed most was Hollywood's (#01-73) succulent duck meat . Cooked until its soft enuf, d meat tastes delicate in ur mouth. It's also nice dat it's not too herbal
Prawn noodles : Stall #01-36 is 1 of d rare few in SG still serving d crunchy kangkong (water spinach ) in their prawn noodles . Soup was light yet full of flavours. For $3, portion was generous!
Chai tow kway (fried carrot cake ): Compared A) Kim Lee #01-30 & B) Shun Li #01-25 side-by-side. A wins hands down for more fragrance & taste (tks to lots of 'chai por' -chopped fermented radish )
Hidden gem here - the prawn noodles from 詠香面家 (01-28) is full of succulent fresh prawns and clean tasting soup . The soup will taste more robust later in the day. Not to be missed.
Home to the tastiest tapioca cakes . Thin and crispy gets my vote! Also great soya bean drink, look out for the stall with the long queues
Green chilli chicken rice #01-09. Enak (delicious)! After being featured, stall has gotten popular. Juicy & flavourful chicken thigh , lightly fried skin, topped with green chilli/onion spread

Mee Hoon Kueh Soup . Can’t go wrong with this bowl from Seletar Sheng Mian #01-60, their 3rd branch in SG. Soup version has egg broken in, thickening & flavouring the bowl
Hainanese curry rice : Dun hv too high expectation if u c a q @ Havelock Hainanese Curry Rice #01-70. All very charmg & old-school (variety of dishes, elderly man in singlet) but taste below ave :-(
Metal spikes on roosting areas. Simple, non-chemical, non-harming method to keep birds (mainly pigeons, mynahs & crowd) away
Sliced fish soup . I wd rank 1) Hock Heng #01-31, 2) Lai You #01-60, & 3) Loo Kee #01-71. HH's fish slices & soup r thick & generous. LY has a robust soup base, despite serving thin fish slices
Vegetarian options : Nonya kueh, local desserts , chwee kueh, yam cake , nasi jagong, prata , thosai, lontong, fried carrot cake , fruits , beancurd , specialty vegetarian stall, yong tau foo , cheecheongfun
Kopi shootout. Sampled popular stalls Heng Wang #01-19 & Heng Heng #01-40 side by side. Heng Wang won hands down for a silky & aromatic brew????

Bak chor mee (minced pork noodles , $4). Fresh & generous ingredients from Da Jia Hao #01-54. Soup was thick. However, nothing outstanding abt their flavours

Tai Dong Teochew Duck Rice - the duck is tender and nice. Very good
Wantan mee ($3.50). Generous vege from Mah Wah #01-33. Served with 2 boiled and 2 fried wantans. However, the electric red ‘char siew ’ (BBQ pork ) slices were mediocre
Wantan Mee . Hui Ji #01-35 is generous with ingredients but noodle sauce is bland (w/o chilli ). Their Lor Mee is also popular
