高松塚古墳 is a historic and protected site Asuka-mura located in Japan.

You can’t go inside the ancient burial mound itself and can only view it from outside. Also it’s not known who was buried inside it. But you can see copies of the frescoes in the mini museum next door
昭和４７年の壁画 発見後、保存施設が建築 されていましたが、壁画 の劣化を止めることができず、平成１９年に石室を墳丘から取り出し、修理作業中。現在、高松塚古墳は、築造された当時の姿に復元されています。
外から見ると、単なる盛土。周りの公園 含めると、敷地はかなり広い。
混雑もあまりなく、空いてて気持ちよい。

文武天皇は天智天皇・持統天皇の孫にあたる第42代天皇。祖母持統天皇より譲位されたのが15歳とされ、『続日本紀』には「檜隈安古陵」に、平安時代の『延喜諸陵式』には「檜前安占岡上陵」に葬られたとあります。 - hasshiy
