Don't listen to the service haters. It's an awesome spot with great food good vibe and the service is what you would expect from a sailors paradise! A must do in Horta.

You should really try the lapas as an appetizer , their are tasty and really not expensive . They go very will with the famous gin tonic (do mar).

Fantastic athmosphere, you can meet real old sailers here. The whale soup is not made from whale (obviously :) on the 1st floor you can see the whale-tooth museum : it is worth to see it once

Apparently “a must visit” bar in Horta. Not impressed though. The interior is nice and thematic but full of drunk tourists . If you could have a chat and G&T with real sailors , it would be perfect!

The boca negra (blackbelly rosefish) was really good, don't be intimidated by its peculiar look.

Relax, chat, enjoy yourself. This is not a fast food restaurant , so don't expect to be in and out in a hurry.

Famous gin tonic ? Yes, 20 years ago, maybe. Today it's more like tonic gin ... But still pretty much drinkable!!

Prawns curry and garlic bread . Service was very fast and gin&tonic was nice

People wait for the tables, tables dont wait for the people... The words of the staff ... The service of the staff was very poor and not organised at all... The food was ok but not a highflyer...

Famous for G&T, but really not too much Gin there. Nice and interesting interior, but that's more or less it. Service was the worst I have experience ever. What a shame :/

LE bar de Horta, le gin tonic est le classique même si il n'y a pas beaucoup d'alcool dedans. Ambiance et vue très chouette !

Une institution, le fils Peter se pliera en quatre pour vous dépanner. On y mange très bien, on y boit pas mal aussi et on se fait de grands copains le temps d'une escale .
