Brilliant cosy place . National trust owned. Blankets, open fires . Fire pit , activities for kids at weekends upstairs. Good beer . Play area . excellent vegan offerings. Bravo!
A gorgeous building, but with unusual opening times in winter (closes at 6pm or 9pm depending on the day). The food was really, really good.

Great place to dry out and shelter from the weather. Complete with log fire and drying racks.
Keswick bitter was nice but disappointed that tea was served as a tea bag chucked in a mug of boiling water and told to get milk and sugar from a corner motorway services style. Expensive parking too
Lovely little pub. Music every night. More seating upstairs for food and plenty of seats in the beer garden (which is a corker of a sun trap, too). Friendly staff & reasonable prices. - Delly Bean
