One of my favorite Golden Gai spots. Ran for 40 years by Tomoyo Kawai. You won’t find random tourists here due to the 2nd fl location & 1000 ¥ cover. Come & chat w/Tomoyo about her fascinating life.

Tomoyo (owner) is great! She speaks English and is very friendly . Grab a seat at the bar . Have a whiskey and chat about movies . She's got an impressive clientele (including Quentin Tarantino).

Hard to find but worth a visit. Tall drinks and whiskies are okay, but the atmosphere and film posters are the main thing. Contrary to rumours, Tomoyo speaks English, which helped!

Clean and no smoking inside, but expensive as hell. You'll be paying a 1000 yen cover charge and 900 yen per small drink . This is where Tarentino hangs.

One of the great places in the world. Have a glass of Nikka black and listen to Tomoyo 's or her regulars' stories.

Eat the little squids that come with your Nikka black whiskey . Like $20/cover charge, so be prepared.
