Authentic yakitori with diverse izakaya plates. Sake menu is decent and offers flights. Atmosphere casual , staff friendly . Try the momo , tsukune, kawa, moro miso , and daikon stew . Skip the karaage .
Everything, but what's unexpected is the attention to authentic detail in their vegetarian and tofu appetizers . Really superb sunomono, fresh tofu , and any specials they offer.
Oyako don always. Nankotsu (karaage or yakitori ) is great when available. Get on the waitlist via Yelp and call ahead for dinner if you want to eat at a reasonable hour
Looking for a great lunch special ? The Oyako-Don is simple, comforting, and makes for a massive meal. Also, don't miss the fried octopus – Tako Karaage – and read all about it on WinstonWanders below! Read more
One of my fav lunch spots . Where else would you get oyako don / tsukune don this good? Gyu Harami is also really good.
chicken and egg over rice is to die for! The grills are great too... Everything is so delicate here, love Love LOVE
The oyako don is where it's at. Everything on the menu is good though, can't go wrong. It's reasonably priced enough that you should try it all!
Everything tasty here. Especially loved the tofu in shrimp broth , chazuke , oyako-don, bacon wrapped enoki roll, spicy teriyaki chicken , and of course, the karaage !
Raw octopus , fried softshell crab and pork belly grill are very good. Long wait though. Recommend to make reservation for dinner
Organic chicken karaage at its best - lightly battered with a balanced taste and a squeeze of lemon !
We had a lot of success giving our waiter a "budget" and asking him to bring out a bunch of wacky dishes. You can always order more after.
Go for lunch . It's an amazing deal, fresh and organic . Set lunch : $10 for salad , donburi , and drink. So much better than all those dive japanese restaurants .Best reasonable yakitori east of Osaka. Read more
Love the sumika salad , chicken skewer , pork skewer , chicken skin skewer , and end with the ume chazuke !
Charcoal-grilled meat & vegi with sake . Also love taste of Japanese apricot in Ochazuke. Come to the downtown before sun goes down and stroll around before you come to the restaurant !
Oyako don can never go wrong. Love the half cooked egg ! Sumika don is with teriyaki sauce instead of egg .
Get anything chicken ! Chicken thigh , wings , etc. Too bad they don't have gyu-tan (beef tongue ) here. Go to Yakitori Kokko in San Mateo for that :)
Came all the way for the famous oyakodon but was a bit disappointed with the flavor. Didn't enjoy the karage and agedeshi tofu much. Prob should have come for what the place is famous for at nights.
Try their specials. Everything is really good on their specials menu, especially the mushroom in tea pot and beef skew!
Excellent food! The eggplant and the grilled rice were amazing! Will be back soon!
Oyako don with raw egg and fresh delicious ingredients. Secret favourite lunch spot .
Authentic and just awesome!
Eggplant dengaku, quail egg skewers , frozen custard for dessert . ????
Tsukune-don. A convert from the traditional oyako-don.
Best yakitori in the area
must: pork cheek , beef and chicken skewers , donburi , frozen custard and black sesame panna cotta .
Organic fried chicken ! I come here for lunch since dinner is always packed!
$10 for a teriyaki don lunch box comes with salad and miso soup . Not a bad deal!
One of the few good places to have fried chicken in the South Bay !
The atmosphere is cozy and no smoke which is rare for a yakitori place! The spicy chicken was dry and very over powering. And yes overpriced wth Moro Q at $8
Lunch special chicken Katsu was delish!
Seats at the counter facing the grill are great for solo diners , but be prepared to smell a bit smoky when you leave. - Inspector
Try their seasonal dessert , kabocha (Japanese pumpkin ) pudding
Oyako don, pork cheeks ,, chix thigh, chix neck, and kaarrage. Skip Kobe beef .
Sumika salad is super tasty. I wish I knew what was in their dressing .
Tontoro . Skip the spicy sauce on the momo . Go wild.
famous for its yakitori and donburi , located in downtown Los Altos
Tontoro and asparagus rolls are great. Great chazuke and suntory premium. Visit Orenchi for Ramen .
Jidori chicken and save room for dessert .
Order an assortment of appetizers . And be adventurous!
Jidori chicken ... Save room for dessert .

Try the Black Sesame Panna Cotta
Get the oyakodon that is all
Frozen custard date nite
I could eat here forever.
Try the Roasted Tea Creme Brulee

Love the salmon skin roll. Their bento box is pretty good too. Service is sporadic - Daisy Zook
The people are do kind & the sushi is equally as wonderful! - Diane Barrera
Some of the best cakes I've tasted.. Mango passion is one I've tried the most.. - tejaswi rao
Very nice staff, great coffee, good wifi. Interior design is so-so, but this is the best place to get espresso in Los Altos. - Soleio
They always have a couple of gluten free items. Lately I've been crushing on their GF carrot cake. $4/slice so definitely in the treat category. ???? - jennifer d
