The Barrymore theatre was built by Lee and J.J. Shubert, and designed by Herbert Krapp. The exterior, still in its original form, with a two-story terra-cotta grillwork screen is spectacular! Read more
We love the seriously old school atmosphere and that there’s literally not a bad seat in this landmarked theater . Be warned that the lobby is small and the AC is potent.
the curious incident is such an incredible play. try and buy a ticket for a prime number seat, and stay for the post-play closing scene. get tickets at <aclass="entity url"rel="nofollow" href="http://curiousonbroadway.com/"target="_blank" data-sig="8XU1LQjYdY/OXLq8atrC0mwgnoc=" onmousedown="fourSq.ui.OutgoingLink.mousedown($(this), event)" data-source="tip-text">http://curiousonbroadway.com/</a>
The best place to see The Band's Visit! Also, spacious downstairs...maybe a little too spacious , rather than having an extra toilet or two.
Definitely a classic. Lots of charm and small enough to see & hear it all on stage. I saw Daniel Craig in "Betrayal", so frankly any old place would do, but this theater was delightful!!
The curious incident of the dog is one of the best plays I've ever seen. It's staging, lighting, narrative structure and performances were all unbelievable. Don't miss this
Six Degrees of Separation is absolutely excellent. Rush tickets are just $32 and quite easy to come by!
The Band’s Visit is a tremendous musical - stretching the form in a new direction. Unfortunately the ushers allowed the guests to use cell phones, make noise. Limited ability to enjoy the show.
Try to see Curious Incident from above if possible. The show is fantastic, but some of it is lost to the orchestra seats .
Excellent sight lines from the Front Mezz . Saw Curious Incident from Row E Center and the view was absolutely perfect.
We sat Center Orchestra Row P and still had a great view of the stage. Love the classic architecture !
Gorgeous old theatre . Great seats everywhere. Curious case was wonderful- high tech set and awesome curtain call math proof!
Beautiful theater with busy but decent bathroom at intermission. Comfy seats .
Hilton Als on Mike Nichols’s revival of Harold Pinter's "Betrayal": "What’s more erotic than a secret? And if that secret is revealed, is the affair de-eroticized?" Read more
Curious incident of the dog in the nighttime. Make sure to stay afterwards to catch him explaining how he solves the math problem.
Turn off your phone, be quiet , and concentrate to fully experience this live artistic masterpiece!
The rake of the orchestra seats is REALLY helpful. No longer do you have to dread a tall person or someone with big hair in front of you!
Old and beautiful theatre . “The band’s visit” musical is very good!
This theater was literally built for Ethel Barrymore to perform in. Much like modern-day Branson there were many theaters built in this style, however the Barrymore is the last one standing.
Nice theater . Not too large.
The balcony is way high, but a great view of the stage
Theater is intimate but there is not enough leg room in the orchestra seats . Very uncomfortable especially if you have long legs.
Even the back row of center orchestra is a great view .
Sat all the way in the back for curious incident and still loved it
Came to watch “The Band’s Visit”. The theater is good, but leg distance btwn the seats is horrible.
Row E in the front mezz has extra leg room, recommended for tall folks on a budget :)
Five sets of ADA Wheelchair tickets for the last three performances of Death of a Salesman were on StubHub Friday taking the limited supply away from wheelchair patrons
Beautiful theatre . Avoid the wine . $21 for a white wine , though it does come in a souvenir cup ...
Take a sweater, it's freezing inside!!!
Good size theatre . Cozy but comfortable . Saw The Inheritance.
only 200 words is not enough to do this amazing play justice - so posted my thoughts on Time Out New York... scroll down on <aclass="entity url"rel="nofollow" href="http://bit.ly/HosjzH"target="_blank" data-sig="Br2/nbJOTbksA0rDkEBYgj178SQ=" onmousedown="fourSq.ui.OutgoingLink.mousedown($(this), event)" data-source="tip-text">http://bit.ly/HosjzH</a>
Amazing play - lots of humor and superb dialogues

Bar is in the basement
Some of the most *astoundingly* bad English accents I have ever heard! Amazing.
Coat check available for a small fee. ☺
The set design was impressive!
The show was fantastic
curious incident was amazing
Daniel Craig says hi!
*Opening night lol
Don't get tickets in the first 4 rows as it is below the stage
Bring your own agua. 5 bucks a pop here.
watch out for the cell phone Nazi, who is quite diligent about making you turn it off.
The best performance in my life...!
