Lovely place, tho not the cheapest - have to pay train to poole, boat, and entry. It is a great way to spend an afternoon or even a day - get a tour but be prepared to stop frequently. Café good!
Lovely walk, beautiful panoramas, but food luck taking photos of the red squirrels , every single one I took blurred, they are quick!
Good for day out and for picnic and if is a nice weather good for swimming .
Great walks. Friendly staff . 200 red squirrels . Lots of wildlife like deer and birds. Birth place of scouting in 1907. All started here
As someone else mentioned, it is run by national trust , so unless you are members you will have to pay.
National Trust look after the Island , you can see Red Squirrels here also nationaly important lagoon for Turns n Spoonbills n other bird species cared for by the DWT.
Try the Steak Pasty in the cafe , it's awesome and stuffed full of steak .
