For those of us who dislike the fancy schmancy parts of LA, come here for a big beer , delicious clam chowder , and a great view of the Port of LA.
fun spot, neighborly vibe, friendly staff . the fried clam strips are hit and miss but the chowder is rich with plump clams and bacon .
Built it 1934 as a support vessel for "Mutiny on the Bounty". It became a restaurant in 1974 & was cemented in place. Moved to its present location in 1988. L.A.'s only floating restaurant .
I had a patty melt and cup of chowder . Do not skip the chowder . Best I've had in years since I lived back east.
If you want a giant, cold beer in a frosted mug or a cup of chowder this is the place!
The Men's Room (Outboard) has one of the finest art collections I've ever seen in my life (in a restroom ).
Great out of the way place. Chowder was fantastic
Shrimp basket and the NECC, Loved it.
Great holiday menu and the food is wonderful!!
They have Wi-Fi ! Ask your server for the current password.
Chowder and the fish dishes . Yum!
Coffee is worth the stop.
Order the Captains mug! It's a liter of beer .
'Inherent Vice' filming location
Would not go there again. Was alright but not somewhere I would go back. Chowder was average at best. The platter plate that we were told was huge looked like it was tiny!
Awesome chowder here!
The staff is unhappy. Many of them are very rude.
