明治43年(1910) に旧陸軍第13師団第3代師団長・長岡外史中将によって師団長官舎として建てられました。平成3年(1991)までは陸上自衛隊高田駐屯地の幹部宿舎として使われていました。上越市内に残る数少ない明治期の洋風木造建築物です。 - ひろきち
