Beautiful temple and place. The best time to be there is when the sunset time is coming, because the sun light will reflect direct on the gold temple .

beautiful place. there are a small cafe that offer outside or inside Japanese house. they serve tea and sugar cake . the sugar cake are awesome and you can by more for home.

Absolutely stunning. It’s 400 Yen entrance per person and there are a few different temples inside to see. As you exit there are some vendors on the left, you have to try the green tea ice cream

Gorgeous site but kind of out of the way and extremely packed compared to other sites. A bit hard to enjoy the serenity of the shrine .

The pvilion is really pretty - surely the highlight in the Kinkaku-ji. We've even saw a crane and lots of carps!

Too many people , too many! It left a bad taste. I would limit the quantity of people who are in and out of the place. This Pavilion should have that serenity Japan is famous for. This was a shit show.

【旧国宝 】…意外なことに舎利殿は国宝 はおろか国 の重要文化財 にも指定されていません。昭和25年(1906)に学僧の放火により全焼、同時に国宝 の足利義満坐像等10体の木像等も失いました。現在の舎利殿(金閣 )は昭和27年から三年かけての再建〜昭和61年2月から昭和62年10月までの昭和大修復をへたものです。

池 の向こう側に写真 を撮る人が集中するが、夕方(晩秋〜初冬の15時頃)は裏側からも陽ざしが当たって綺麗に輝く金閣 を見ることができる。

舎利殿(金閣 )は国宝 、重要文化財 格を失いましたが、鏡湖 池 (きょうこち)を中心とした池 泉回遊式庭園 は国 の特別史跡 ・特別名勝です。金閣 が水面に映る景色 は季節を問わず絶景 です。

神々しく金色に輝く壁面。舎利殿全体で約10センチ四方の金箔が20万枚使用されており、重さにすると20キロになる。
