The castle was built in the 10th century by the Countess Mumadona.The history of the castle is linked with the founding of Portugal. Within its walls lived generations of ancestors to the first King.

Historical center is perfect. You can walk everywhere because eavery wonderful building is close to each other. You will feel that you are walking at 16. Century .

Pay for the castle and house tour , it's a great combo.

Presently restorations are taking place and you're not able to climb to the upper level of the walls or the tower . Worth visiting anyway.

There's a room with vending machines on level 1 just after you climb up the stairs. Good for a break

Um pouco da nossa história, já que por Guimarães começou Portugal e , por conseguinte a do Brasil. Circule também pelas bucólicas ruas laterais.

O castelo volta ao passado medieval , todo de pedra e com um lindo jardim . Passeio obrigatório para quem está no Porto , a cerca de 40 minutos de trem, sendo possível fazer bate e volta.

Fomos em família e depois de visitarmos outros castelos consegui me surpreender com Guimarães pela sua beleza e autenticidade. Muito lindo e original . Paga se 2 € pela entrada.

Castelo e uma vila do século 10 . Muito conservados, passeio obrigatório em Portugal

A vista nocturna é melhor ainda. A subida à torre mais alta não é aconselhável a pessoas com vertigens ou medo de subir escadas do tempo medieval .

Ótimo para um passeio ao ar livre e sem dúvida um castelo com grande importância na história de Portugal.

Esta vacio , pero para ser gratis pues esta bien visitarlo, porque te hace sentir como es estar dentro de esas murallas y puedes tomar buenas fotos.
