Had a great stay here. The Shiraz Persian restaurant nearby is a must try small traditional mom and pop ran place with authentic Iranian food. Superstore also conveniently located nearby.
Ask girls at the front for the Wifi Code nicely, they are super friendly and might give you a code of the day to use for your stay for free!
Get Free High Speed Wifi>>>ask at front desk to sign up for an SPG membership (it's free and takes only 30 seconds).
You can never go wrong staying at a Westin hotel , in my opinion. The Westin Nova Scotian is no exception. Rooms are on the small side, but it's close to everything in downtown Halifax.
Great place to work ! There are Wonderful Westin people who are always eager to help; from making your reservations - planning your entertainment - or catering to your hunger needs, the Westin rocks!
The $10 wifi fee is crazy. Anyone who thinks these rooms are small really should never travel to Europe. I found our room to be just fine and the bed is so great I bought one for home.
Great view from the ocean side. Shiraz at 1240 Hollis serves awesome cheap Persian food , not a half block away. Try the South End Diner for breakfast (2 blocks away).
Ask to have your room facing the Harbor as the views are much better...preferably fourth floor or higher.
Become a Starwood Preferred Guest (free) and your wifi is complimentary !
Free wifi when you upgrade to a premium room. It is also available in the beautiful hotel lobby, business center and Eve (Starbucks Cafe )!
It's almost midnight and there is a DJ playing LOUD music right below my room. The front desk won't help. I recommend trying to get a room further away from the lobby (read: not on the 2nd floor!)
Internet seems fine and fast on 10th floor and lobby. Free if you are Starwood preferred
If you get room 231 and paid full price... Demand a room change. This room is not worth over a hundred dollars. Closet is almost non-existent. The view is of the flat roof and other people's window
Small, very small rooms, service is ok, expensive internet, with very poor reliability. Good location to get around downtown, but having stayed in other hotels in Halifax, this doesn't rank very well
traveling with a furry friend? the westin is pet friendly (we will even provide you with a heavenly pet bed!!)
NOISY creaky, old hotel . Rooms are small, with dated carpets, be careful in selecting rooms, lots of rooms with views of nothing. Location is ok, but other hotels have many other amenities nearby.
Great friendly staff !! Excellent hotel to stay at for business
Thirsty? Check out the newly renamed lobby bar . Roy's!
Buy the porn! It's cheaper than crashing your computer trying to watch your own.
Amazingly comfortable beds !
$10 a night for Wifi ! A definite turn off. Glad I have my iPhone.
..the wifi is crappy but all else - topssss ..good for business stay overs
They charge for wifi . Some reno work going on. There coffee place is friendly but SLOW. Gym facilities adequate. Keiths ale house is close, good pub food/beer. Small running map 8/5k loops at desk.
Takes forever to get rooms cleaned . Our room wasn't done until after 4pm.
Over priced hotel for its age and upkeep. Internet in rooms is terrible (wired & wifi ) AND costs and is even slower in banquet rooms. Beds are nice however the rooms are small.
If WiFi is your primary concern, this hotel may be a disappointment. $10 per device in guest rooms with marginal reception.
$10 for wifi ? Ya no thanks
The suites are some of the most spacious that you can stay in, in Halifax. Wonderful hotel and service. Will definitely stay again!!!! - Cara Quigley
Good for business Travellers - comfortable beds, reliable wifi connection, proximity to cafes and restaurants. Parking is 20 CAD plus tax - Erik Roq
There is free wifi and there is nowhere in downtown Halifax where you get free parking. It's a classy place with great service. Highly recommend. - Vince Charles
From baked goods to art to lobster rolls, this market has it all! Highly recommend! - Robbyn Gordon
Oh My God! I had the most amazing meal! White fish in a fried lemon risotto patty, with veggies. To top it off, the gelato tastes as though it came straight from Italy. - Irene Vivenzio
