If you are driving early, the South Gate opens at 8am and there will be no access to the park . Take the North Gate.
Summit hike is definitely challenging but the reward from the views make it worth every second!

Gorgeous views on a clear day. Bring a jacket as its chilly up here. Not my favorite place to camp but it's a great hiking spot. It's a state park though so no booze or dogs allowed in trails. - Laura L
