Fascinating experience to board a submarine and a destroyer. The museum inside is quite static in comparison. Note: the tall ship James Craig at the side is not part of the museum and is free to visit
Every Aussie should go to see the Endevour replica , the volunteers knowledge is excellent! The Vampire warship and Onslow submarine are also worth a look.
General Admission which includes almost everything except visit to the boat & sub is FREE! The museum has a dedicated area for infants and a separate large play area for children.
A great museum - so interesting - the special exhibitions are wellpresented with mixed media. The gift shop has really tasteful and fun and interesting things for all ages. Love this place.
Be sure to spend some time at the Welcome Wall, which chronicles the millions of people (like me and my family) who have settled in this wonderful place. We'll be on the wall soon! ????
The Endeavour wasn't in the harbour but it was still a good afternoon out. Enjoyed the submarine (in particular) and their volunteer guides are so passionate it's a pleasure listening to them.
Boards ships and experience what life is like on the water. We loved going on board the destroyer, submarine and tall ship . You will pay $32 for full access. Cheaper rates for regular visits.
Buy the 'big ticket' $25/$15 and explore the Endevour replica , Vampire Navy destroyer and Onslow submarine . Definitely the highlights of the visit. Volunteer guides are friendly and helpful @ANMMuseum
Entry is free to the museum 's core exhibitions , special temporary exhibitions , Wharf 7 Maritime Heritage Centre, North Wharf and marina (to view small vessels) and Cape Bowling Green Lighthouse .
If you're a whale lover like myself, get the Big Ticket ($27) and pay an extra $7 to see life-size photos of whales!
Great place to take the young ones to see abit of maritime history and right in city .
This place is not only great for one interested in Australia's Maritime History , but also for kids to explore!
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes ! Crawling around the submarine, destroyer, and tall ship is hard on shoes and clothes .
+ very interesting to board all the ships - exhibition inside the main building is not realy interesting
Definitely buy the pass to have access on board the ships and sub .
Free every month on the first Thursday. Doesn't include special exhibits

One for dads?
Don't bother walking all the way up here if you've got a kid under 3 feet tall - not allowed on the boats even with if they're in a hiking pack..
????????????????????????????
